Individual museum visitors
During opening hours (Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00-17.00) we offer a 45 minute guided tour around the building, to point out interesting parts of the architecture and to visit three other parts of the museum: The interior Michel de Klerk designed for the former post office in The Ship, a replica of a 19th-century slum dwelling and an original museum appartment with '20s interior in The Ship. The tours are included in the museum entrance fee start at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00. The language of the tour depends on the nationalities of the visitors. We try to offer foreign visitors an English tour, but we can not give any guarantees. If a big part of the group is Dutch, the tour might have to be in Dutch. For some languages, (including English), we have handouts so you can understand the tour.
The 3 o'clock tour (15:00) is always in English.
If this does not suit you, please let us know by email on what day and time you would like to join the tour, and we will do our best to set this tour in English.
